The 3GPP Conference in Taiwan Pushes 5G Applications

   The 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project), regarded as a global standard of mobile telecommunications,  is invited to hold a 5G conference on March 1 by CHT (Chunghwa Telecom) and NTUST (National Taiwan University of Science and Technology), the United Daily News reported on February 24.

   Several key international vendors such as AT&T (American Telephone & Telegraph), T-Mobile from  the United States and Orange, Deutsche Telekom, Telecom Italia, British Telecom from  Europe will join to discuss the issues of 5G standards and deployment including Network Slicing, Edge Computing, and Self-Organizing Networks.

   To embrace the new 5G  era, CHT has actively extended its 5G applications through AI (Artificial Intelligence), Big data, Cloud and mobile IoT information security service for implementing 5G innovative applications and commercialization by 2020.
